Not all extracted teeth are wisdom teeth. Any tooth can become damaged or decayed and, after all other measures have been tried and no other options are available, the last step is for the tooth to be extracted (pulled). The extraction is typically performed in the same manner as wisdom teeth. However, since non-wisdom tooth extraction is usually only one tooth, extraction can generally be done under the numbing agent Novacaine. This allows for a speedier recovery from the procedure and in many cases, can be more cost-effective.

Post- extraction care is extremely important and all directions and medications given to you should be strictly adhered to and/or taken as prescribed. Not doing so can lead to infection, increased pain and future complications.

Refer to the instructions contained on the "After An Extraction" page on our website for more information.
